Veteran Advertising Executive David Droga Steps Down as CEO of Accenture Song
David Droga, founder of the acclaimed agency Droga5 and current CEO of Accenture Song, announced his departure from the role effective September 2025. In a statement, Droga will transition into a new strategic position as vice chair across all of Accenture, ending his tenure as day-to-day leader of Accenture Song.
Accenture Song's current Americas lead, Ndidi Oteh, will replace Droga as CEO starting September 1. Oteh, who has served with Accenture since 2011, will also join the global management committee. In addition, Nick Law, creative chairperson at Accenture Song, will assume the role of creative strategy and experience lead and join the global management committee.
Droga5, the New York-based agency founded by Droga in 2006, was sold to Accenture in 2019 in a $475 million deal. Under Droga's leadership, the agency earned a reputation for creating award-winning work for clients such as The New York Times, Under Armour, Puma, and Microsoft, earning ADWEEK's title of Agency of the Decade in 2019. After the acquisition, Droga was appointed CEO of Accenture Song in 2021.
Under Droga's guidance, Accenture Song experienced substantial growth, with its revenue rising from $12.5 billion to $19 billion for the fiscal year ending August 31, 2024. The consultancy also underwent a rebranding of its creative services division, Accenture Interactive, to Accenture Song in 2022, unifying over 40 acquisitions and groups under the new name.
In a statement, Droga expressed gratitude for his career and the opportunities he had, acknowledging that it was the right time for him to step back and allow the exceptional leadership at Accenture Song to continue the legacy of innovation, creativity, and performance. He plans to focus on strategic contributions in his new role as vice chair, while also taking time to catch his breath and explore new avenues in the industry.
Julie Sweet, chair and CEO of Accenture, praised Droga's impact on the company and the advertising world. "David Droga is a singular force, a once-in-a-generation creative leader and business builder," she said. "His brilliance is matched only by his generosity, integrity, and belief in others." With Droga's legacy in the industry secured, Accenture Song continues on its path of growth and innovation.
David Droga, with his exceptional leadership in both Droga5 and Accenture Song, has left a profound impact on the finance and business sectors, particularly in the realm of defi and advertising. As he steps back to focus on strategic contributions within Accenture, his departure opens new opportunities for careers, with Ndidi Oteh and Nick Law taking over the respective roles as CEO and creative strategy and experience lead of Accenture Song.
