Ares Management Appoints Sarah Cole as Co-Head for Worldwide Capital Solutions
Sarah Cole, a seasoned investment professional with a rich background in strategic relationships and private credit deployment, has joined Ares Management Corporation as Partner and Co-Head of the Global Capital Solutions team.
Prior to Ares, Cole held a significant position at the Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo), where she served as a Managing Director, overseeing firmwide strategic relationships and expanding private credit investments. Before AIMCo, she was a Managing Director in the Structured Credit group at Barclays, leading sourcing efforts for asset-based lending (ABL) and other credit financing opportunities.
Cole's career trajectory also includes a stint at Goldman Sachs, where she was a member of the High Yield team. Her academic credentials include a B.A. in Economics from Georgetown University and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
Cole's appointment at Ares comes at a time when the firm is expanding and deepening its platform. Kipp deVeer, Co-President of Ares, expressed excitement about Cole joining the firm, stating that her extensive experience and deep relationships will be a valuable asset to Ares.
In her new role, Cole will work closely with senior leaders at Ares to leverage the firm's underwriting and financing capabilities to identify new investment opportunities. She aims to deepen existing relationships and forge new ones, with a focus on enhancing Ares' strategic relationships within the banking, insurance, and capital markets sectors.
Cole's role is expected to advance Ares' origination efforts and help uncover differentiated investment opportunities. Together with Roshan Chagan, she will centralise Ares' capital market activities to improve strategic value for counterparty partners.
Cole's addition to the Ares team is a testament to the firm's commitment to attracting top talent and further cultivating its network of strong banking partnerships.
