Atyrau Oil Refinery Begins Annual Maintenance to Ensure Fuel Supplies
The Atyrau Oil Refinery has initiated its annual preventive maintenance work (PMW) on October 1, ensuring steady fuel supplies to western Kazakhstan. The refinery's Chair, Askhat Khasenov, inspected preparations and emphasized the importance of quality and reliable operations during the maintenance period, which spans until October 25, 2025.
The PMW encompasses complex operations such as reactor repairs and column internal structure updates. Specialists will also perform technical inspections and replace over 316 tons of catalysts on several units. Labor, industrial, and fire safety will be given special attention throughout the process.
The refinery has stockpiled gasoline (37,000 tons), diesel fuel (30,000 tons), and jet fuel (6,800 tons) to ensure timely shipments during the maintenance. These stocks will be used according to a plan agreed with the Ministry of Energy. The phased restart of technological units is scheduled from October 25.
The PMW is a comprehensive annual procedure conducted in accordance with industrial safety regulations and the approved schedule by the Ministry of Energy. It is expected to enhance the refinery's efficiency and reliability, ensuring steady fuel supplies to western Kazakhstan.
