Audi Brings YouTube to Cars in Summer 2023

Audi is set to boost its in-car entertainment. Starting summer 2023, select 2024 models will feature YouTube, integrated via a new app store. The feature will initially roll out in Europe, Canada, and the US.

YouTube Premium members can enjoy ad-free viewing in their Audi vehicles. The app will be available in models like A4/A5, Q5, A6/A7, A8, Q8 e-tron, and Audi e-tron GT quattro, equipped with the latest MIB 3 hardware and software cluster.

Video streaming will be permitted only when the vehicle is parked, ensuring driver safety. The YouTube app will be optionally available ex-factory, with plans to expand to other regions and Volkswagen Group brands in the future.

The new app store also offers integration of popular third-party apps, including music, gaming, navigation, and news apps. A data link via an embedded SIM is required for these apps, with mobile costs billed by data volume by Cubic Telecom in Europe.

Audi's inclusion of YouTube in its infotainment systems is a significant step towards enhancing in-car entertainment. The new app store and YouTube integration promise a more connected and engaging driving experience for Audi customers.
