Authorities Seize Fake Perfumes Worth €83,130, Following €134,300 Fake Shoes Bust
Authorities have seized another shipment of counterfeit goods, this time auto owners' perfumery products, causing damage worth approximately €83,130. This follows a recent discovery of fake 'New Balance' sports shoes in Riga Freeport, with damages reaching €134,300.
The trademark owners have confirmed the infringements, and the seized goods are set for destruction. This year alone, 52 cases of counterfeit goods have been detected, with a staggering 94% found in postal items. Another significant seizure involved counterfeit auto owners' perfumery products, mimicking popular trademarks, resulting in damages exceeding €217,000. Despite investigations, the companies behind these counterfeit operations remain unidentified.
The recent seizures highlight the ongoing issue of counterfeit goods, with significant financial losses for trademark owners. Authorities continue to investigate the responsible parties, while the seized goods await destruction.
