Authorities Target Black Work and Illegal Employment in Austrian Construction Site Raid

Authorities have conducted a joint inspection at a construction site in Austrian Feldkirch, targeting black work and illegal employment in the industry. The 'Week of Action - Construction', initiated by the European Labour Authority (ELA), saw the Main Customs Office Augsburg, Ulm, and Austrian ELA representatives collaborate with local financial police.

The inspection, lasting two days, was led by the Financial Control Black Work (FKS) colleagues from Augsburg. They checked if employers had correctly registered their employees for social security and if all workers were authorized to engage in gainful employment. The search did not reveal the name of the head of the FKS department involved in this operation.

The targeted inspection was part of a broader European effort to combat illegal work in the construction sector. It is unclear if any violations were found during the inspection.

The joint inspection in Austrian Feldkirch highlights the ongoing commitment of European authorities to tackle black work and illegal employment in the construction industry. Further actions are expected as part of the 'Week of Action - Construction'.
