Banca Transilvania provides EUR 16 million financing for the biggest commercial park in Romania's Transylvania region.

In the heart of Transylvania, the town of Florești is set to undergo a significant transformation with the development of URBANO Shopping & Living, a €100 million shopping park project by URBANO Group. The project, slated to commence in 2026, will span over 25 hectares and attract a local population of more than 150,000 people [1][2][3].

The shopping park will be a veritable one-stop destination, featuring a DIY store, cash & carry hypermarket, supermarket, furniture and decoration stores, clothing and footwear shops, health and beauty outlets, dining options, office spaces, and event halls. The development is expected to generate over 500 jobs during construction and afterward [1][2].

Environmental sustainability is at the forefront of URBANO Shopping & Living's design. More than 5 hectares of green spaces will be incorporated, ensuring a balance between urban development and natural beauty. Efficient energy management, renewable energy sources, and electric vehicle and bicycle charging stations will also be integral features [1][2].

Banca Transilvania, the largest bank in Romania and Southeast Europe, serving nearly five million customers, is providing over €16 million in financing to support this project. The bank's long-standing partnership with URBANO Group, spanning over 15 years, and its commitment to sustainable development are evident in this investment [1][2].

Cosmin Călin, Senior Executive Director for Large Companies, Structured Finance, and Factoring at Banca Transilvania, believes that such developments can create a broader ecosystem. He emphasizes that the project not only impacts the local community directly but also has the potential to promote further real estate developments in the area [1][2].

URBANO Group, active since 2016 in Cluj-Napoca and its metropolitan area, develops premium projects in the logistics-industrial, residential, and commercial sectors [3]. Alexandru Șerban, co-founder of URBANO Group, believes the new commercial park will create a significant impact on residents in the western area of the Cluj Metropolitan Zone [3].
