Bath Council Extends Cycleway Consultation to December 2nd

Bath & North East Somerset Council is extending a consultation on a proposed cycleway through Bath. Known as the Bath Walking, Wheeling and Cycling Links (BWWCL) scheme, it aims to create more than 6.2km of cycling routes and improve walking and wheeling options. Cabinet member Sarah Warren thanked participants and extended the consultation to Monday 2nd December to gather more feedback.

The BWWCL scheme is part of the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlements (CRSTS) programme. It comprises four routes designed to connect key areas within Bath through a network of dedicated cycle lanes, advisory routes, and improved pedestrian paths. The scheme will provide significant walking and wheeling improvements, such as upgraded crossings and safer options. The consultation, which began in mid-October, has received a large number of responses. It is being extended to ensure more participation.

The BWWCL scheme, part of the CRSTS programme, is set to create over 6.2km of cycling routes and enhance walking and wheeling options in Bath. The extended consultation, now closing on Monday 2nd December, encourages more residents to share their views. The Climate Emergency and Sustainable Transport Routes Committee Member welcomes further feedback to shape the scheme's final design.
