Bergisch Gladbach's Ommerbornstraße to Get Major Renovation in October
Bergisch Gladbach's Ommerbornstraße is set for a comprehensive renovation, starting October 6, 2025. The project, located in the Sand district between Herkenrather Straße and Oberlerbach, aims to improve the road's condition and reduce environmental impact.
The renovation will take place in three phases over 12 to 15 weeks. Residents won't be charged any road construction contributions. A lighter variant of asphalt will be used to reduce heat and enhance night visibility. Defective stormwater drains will be repaired, and manhole covers and street inlets will be replaced. Noise emissions will be reduced by using fine-grained material. Sidewalks will be widened at specific areas (house numbers 14 and 64). Due to the road's narrowness, a full road closure is required, with markings done post-construction.
The new road surface is expected to lower summer temperatures and reduce noise levels. Residents can stay informed and ask questions about the project on the municipal website at https://www.our-website.de/strassenausbau.aspx.
