New City Infrastructure Deal Signed in Gelephu, Bhutan
LS Vice Chairman Myung Roe-hyun and Gelephu Investment and Development Corporation CEO Ujjwal Deep Dahal recently signed an agreement to establish a joint venture aimed at supplying infrastructure for a new city in Gelephu, Bhutan. The joint venture's purpose is yet to be disclosed, but it's no secret that LS Corporation, a subsidiary of the LS Group, is diversifying its sectors, venturing into energy, electronics, and infrastructure development.
LS Corporation's reach extends beyond Bhutan. Recently, it invested a whopping $681 million in the U.S. to establish the largest submarine cable manufacturing plant in the country, located in Chesapeake, Virginia. This facility will manufacture High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) submarine cables, enhancing global energy infrastructure. [1][2][3]
Moreover, LS Corporation's footprint can also be found in Mexico, Ohio, and Texas, where it's involved in various manufacturing expansions, lithium-ion battery plants, and semiconductor projects. [4][5]
