Board of Supervisors or Governing Body of our site
Our restructured, refreshed take on the Board of Directors for our nonprofit focuses on the esteemed group guiding our 501(c)(3) organization. This elite council is in charge of governing the intricacies of our charitable corporation. They establish policies, set the overall direction, keep an eye on performance, and oversee the financial aspects of our operation.
On November 2, 2015, membership voted to update the bylaws, expanding the Board to an impressive 23 directors. This expansion encompasses 12 Member Directors, who are station managers from our member stations, 9 Public Directors chosen by the Board and approved by our members, the Foundation Chair, and our President & CEO.
Board and Membership Meetings and the nitty-gritty of our Member Station Managers follow. This section unfolds names like Jennifer Ferro, CEO of KCRW and Chair of our Board, Debbie Hiott, General Manager at KUT News, and numerous other prominent individuals leading the charge in their respective stations.
The Board's head honcho is Katherine Maher, our President and CEO, and John McGinn steers the Foundation as Chair. The Public Members of our Board are a stellar selection of diverse industry experts, with figures such as Milena Alberti-Perez, Financial, Media, and Technology Executive, Matthew Barzun, Media Entrepreneur, and Catherine Levene, an Executive and Vice Chair of our Board, to name a few.
For a bit more context, it's worth mentioning that this Board of Directors is a melting pot ofcity residents, each representing distinct backgrounds encompassing non-profit organizations, private corporations, and City government (though this information isn't originally part of the article). Their collective skills lend credence to the organization's objectives, providing vision, control, and direction to ensure our nonprofit thrives.
