City-to-Soviet village transportation prohibited

Heads Up! Vorkuta Travel Alert

Here's a heads-up for anyone planning to visit Sovetskiy village from the city between June 4 and October 31. Due to a decision by the Municipal Anti-Terrorism Commission, all types of transport are restricted at the entry point. Breaking the anti-terrorism security rules could land you in hot water with administrative penalties.

Back in early June, the mayor's press service made an announcement. Based on a decision by the Municipal Emergency Situations Commission, heavy vehicles (over 6 tons) were prohibited from using the automobile bridge over the Vorkuta River near the "Vorkutinskaya" mine, effective from 8:00 on June 5. The reason? Some serious damage to the bridge's concrete foundation had been found.

As a result, the commute time for "Vorkutaugol" employees using corporate transport to their workplaces has increased. But don't worry, the schedule is being closely monitored, and any updates will be communicated promptly through social media and on company premises.

On June 5, here's the lowdown on corporate transport schedules for various mining locations:

  1. "Vorgashorskaya" mine - Operation as scheduled through the northern section of the ring road.
  2. "Komsomolskaya", "Vorkutinskaya", "Zapolyarnaya" mines, and the "Pechorskaya" CPOF - Scheduled service up to the old automobile bridge over the Vorkuta River. Employees will need to cross the bridge on foot and hop on waiting buses for further travel.
  3. Light vehicles can cross the automobile bridge over the Vorkuta River without restrictions.

Stay safe and smart, travelers! For the latest and most accurate information, it's always best to check with local authorities or official municipal websites and news sources.

The travel restrictions in Vorkuta have affected not only transportation but also the industry, as the commute time for "Vorkutaugol" employees using corporate transport has increased. Additionally, the decision by the Municipal Emergency Situations Commission has also impacted finance, as heavy vehicles (over 6 tons) are prohibited from using the automobile bridge over the Vorkuta River, which may affect the efficiency and cost of goods transportation.
