The peaceful Waldfriedhof "Am Limberg" in Menden (Sauerland) will undergo maintenance starting from September 18, with the first full closure scheduled for September 22. The cemetery administration has announced that the work is expected to be completed by the 41st calendar week.
During this period, the cemetery will be temporarily closed to pedestrians on certain days. Signs will be posted at the cemetery entrances to indicate closures and ensure visitors are aware of the temporary restrictions. Driving through the cemetery will not be possible on Monday mornings during the maintenance phase.
However, funeral services that have already been scheduled through a funeral home can be carried out during the maintenance period. Pending burials can be arranged after consultation with the cemetery administration. Commercial activities that need to be carried out during this time should be coordinated with the cemetery administration of Menden.
The cemetery administration thanks visitors for their understanding and encourages them to stay informed about the finalized closure dates, which will be announced on the city of Menden's social media channels and website. Further closure dates can be inquired about at the cemetery administration.
Once the maintenance is completed, the cemetery will be fully accessible again without restrictions from October 13. The city of Menden looks forward to welcoming visitors back to the beautiful Waldfriedhof "Am Limberg" after the maintenance period.
