Construction Cost of the M-12 "East" Durtuly-Achit Highway Revealed

The much-anticipated M-12 "East" highway, a significant infrastructure project aimed at enhancing connectivity in Eastern Russia, is making steady progress. One of the key segments under development is the 72-kilometer stretch from Durtuli to Achit.

The construction of this section, estimated to cost approximately 18 billion rubles, is a significant step towards improving transport links, reducing travel times, and supporting economic growth in the region. The project is being executed with a focus on modern engineering standards, ensuring safety, durability, and efficiency. This includes multi-lane carriageways, advanced drainage systems, and road safety features.

For the Ural residents who have been waiting for this opportunity for five years, the news is particularly exciting. Once completed, the travel time between Kazan and Yekaterinburg via the M-12 highway will be halved, with the new section taking just three hours to traverse, compared to the six hours currently taken on the alternative free road.

The construction of the new section is divided into three stages. The first stage, spanning 140 kilometers, is already completed in Bashkortostan. The second stage, covering 93 kilometers, is underway in Perm Krai, and the third stage, a 42-kilometer stretch in Sverdlovsk Oblast, is the current focus of construction efforts.

Notable features of the highway include an 813-meter bridge over the Belaya River, which will be built in Bashkortostan as part of the project. A total of 99 artificial structures, including overpasses, bridges, and biopasses, will be built on the M-12 highway.

The opening ceremony of the new section was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin via video conference. The new section of the M-12 federal highway has been officially revealed on the website of the "Avtodor" state company.

For those participating in loyalty programs, the cost for traveling the new section can be reduced. With the maximum discount, the price drops to 1456 rubles, making travel more affordable for many.

While details about the timeline, contractors, and technical specifications are not provided in this update, the progress made on the Durtuli to Achit section of the M-12 "East" highway is a promising sign for improved transport infrastructure in Eastern Russia.

The significant infrastructure project, the M-12 "East" highway, is not only enhancing connectivity in Eastern Russia but also contributing to the growth of various industries, such as finance and automotive, by improving transportation links. With the construction of the 72-kilometer stretch from Durtuli to Achit, financial institutions may benefit from increased trade and commerce, and the automotive sector may experience a boost due to improved travel times. The project's focus on modern engineering standards ensures efficiency, durability, and safety, which are crucial factors for the success of both industries.
