Continental Announces Soussan as New Chairman
Sabrina Soussan, an experienced manager with over 25 years in the automotive and transport industry, is expected to take over the chairmanship of Continental's supervisory board following the 2026 Annual General Meeting.
Soussan's career includes leadership roles at Siemens, most notably at Siemens Mobility where she served as CEO. She also has experience working at Continental itself. Soussan most recently served as CEO of the French waste management conglomerate Suez before being proposed as Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board at Continental.
Wolfgang Reitzle, who has served on Continental's supervisory board for 16 years, will step down next year. Reitzle initiated the current split of Continental, with the spin-off of the automotive supply division occurring just the previous day under the name Aumovio through an IPO. Continental's plastics technology division is set to be sold next year.
The information about Continental was announced by the DAX company on Friday. The change at the top of Continental's supervisory board was previously reported by the "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung".
Soussan is expected to join Continental's supervisory board as a shareholder representative by the end of this month. Her term as chair is scheduled to begin following the 2026 Annual General Meeting and is expected to end with the shareholders' meeting on April 30, 2026.
Soussan's career in the rail industry is noteworthy, having held leadership roles in this sector at Siemens VDO and Siemens Mobility. Her extensive experience in the automotive and transport industry, combined with her leadership skills, make her a strong candidate for the role of chair at Continental.
This change at Continental's supervisory board marks a new chapter for the company, and Soussan's appointment is highly anticipated by shareholders and industry observers alike. As Continental continues to evolve and adapt to the changing landscape of the automotive and transport industries, Soussan's leadership is expected to guide the company towards success.
