Baghdad Boost: Koncar Lands Massive $72 Milly Contract
Croatia's Koncar, a renowned power industry titan, just scored a whopping 65 million euro deal with Iraq's Ministry of Electricity (MOE). The agreement aims to rejuvenate the antique Haditha hydropower plant, a project that holds significant implications for both parties.
Back in the 1980s, Koncar built this very Iraqi powerhouse on the Euphrates River. With an impressive 6 × 128 MVA capacity, this plant stands as one of Koncar's largest references to date.
A plethora of companies under the Koncar Group, spearheaded by Koncar - Inzenjering/Engineering (KET), will participate in the ambitious restoration project. The verdant ventures include revamping production units, replacing older electrical equipment, implementing cutting-edge power management systems, and refurbishing the plant's mechanical subsystems.
