Customs authorities reveal initial data on inspections anticipated during the Kiliani music festival in the spotlight of entertainment industry scrutiny.
The Main Customs Office Schweinfurt is set to host an event on July 26, 2025, providing the public with an opportunity to learn about the diverse areas of activity of the Customs Service. The event, which will take place at Zollamt Schweinfurt - Londonstraße, 97421 Schweinfurt, from 10 am to 3 pm, aims to increase public understanding of the Financial Control of Illegal Work (FKS) of the Customs Service.
Just a week ago, on July 10, 2025, the Main Customs Office conducted inspections at the Kiliani Volksfest in Würzburg. During these inspections, a total of 67 showmen businesses were scrutinised, and approximately 224 employees were questioned about their employment status. Suspicions of possible violations were detected, and these irregularities are now the subject of further investigations.
The FKS of the Customs Service conducts nationwide and regional focus and special inspections based on a risk-oriented approach. These inspections are an important tool for reducing the social acceptance of illegal work and contribute to the detection and punishment of violations. The authorities working closely with the Hauptzollverwaltung Schweinfurt in these investigations typically include regional customs enforcement units, local labor and social security enforcement agencies, police, and labor inspectorates.
The results of the inspections at the Kiliani Volksfest are documented in the file 20250710_pm_kiliani_results.pdf, a 171 kB PDF document available for download. The Main Customs Office is in close contact with cooperating authorities, including the German Pension Insurance and the immigration authorities, to ensure a comprehensive investigation.
Interested citizens have the opportunity to learn more about the tasks and activities of the Financial Control of Illegal Work of the Customs Service at the event on July 26. The Main Customs Office can be contacted for inquiries at the Press Office, Tel.: 09721/6464-1030, Email: [email protected], and www.zoll.de.
