Customs Inspects Duisburg, Essen, Wesel: 1,000+ Euros in Wage Claims Found

On 19.09.2025, the Financial Control Schwarzarbeit of the Customs (FKS) inspected the hospitality and accommodation sector in Duisburg, Essen, and the Wesel District. Over 60 customs officers were involved, focusing on combating black labor and ensuring compliance with the general minimum wage of 12.82 euros per hour.

The inspections, conducted by the FKS, revealed open claims totalling over 1,000 euros. Follow-up inspections are planned for 53 cases to verify employee data against company records. The Customs Service, which secures social systems and state revenues, aims to promote fair working conditions and competitive markets through these inspections.
