Discussion Forums on Financial Sustainability 2025

In 2025, the acronym is hosting a series of Regional Roundtables on Sustainable Finance, aiming to foster collaboration, innovation, and inclusive governance in addressing pressing environmental and social challenges through finance. These pivotal events will take place in various global locations, including New York City, USA; Suzhou, China; Marrakech, Morocco; Brussels, Belgium; São Paulo, Brazil; and will culminate in Climate Week NYC 2025 (North America).

The Regional Roundtables will serve as vital convenings that advance regional sustainable finance ecosystems. By bringing together finance professionals, policymakers, regulators, civil society, and other stakeholders, these events will provide a collaborative forum for knowledge exchange and leadership on sustainability in finance.

One of the primary objectives of participating in these Roundtables is to shape the sustainable finance agenda for each region. The events will explore forward-thinking approaches to key sustainability challenges, such as climate mitigation and adaptation, nature and biodiversity risks, regulatory updates, pollution, financial health, human rights, and impact and risk management.

Another objective is to facilitate inclusive governance and dialogue with civil society actors, Indigenous organizations, women’s associations, and other underrepresented groups, promoting social inclusion and equitable benefit-sharing in climate finance implementation. This approach aims to lead to both environmental and socially just outcomes.

The Regional Roundtables will also support regional efforts to develop integrated and functional sustainable finance systems, including creating sustainability indices to assess companies’ and financial institutions’ progress on climate action and social indicators.

Participants in the Roundtables will benefit from priority access to high-level plenaries, dialogues, and keynote speeches featuring experts and leaders across the financial sector and sustainability fields. These events will offer rich networking and learning opportunities, as well as chances to influence policy and regulatory developments by engaging directly with policymakers and regulators focused on sustainable finance frameworks and standards.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to connect with key leaders and experts driving the sustainable finance agenda, access best practices and innovative solutions for managing environmental risks and leveraging sustainable opportunities, and demonstrate leadership and commitment to sustainability among peers and stakeholders.

Moreover, the Regional Roundtables will provide opportunities for sharing and exploring approaches to advancing sustainable finance, driving transformative initiatives in finance for sustainability, and contributing to the alignment of capital flows with sustainability goals, such as achieving net-zero emissions, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development goals like SDG 14 (Life Below Water).

Hundreds of leaders from various sectors, including finance, civil society, academia, government, and the United Nations, are expected to attend these events. Interested parties can contact Melissa Angel for more information about partnership and sponsorship opportunities.

In sum, the Regional Roundtables in 2025 serve as crucial convenings that aim to connect members and financial leaders locally, chart a path forward to accelerate sustainable finance action, and ultimately, shape a more sustainable and resilient future for all.

At these Regional Roundtables on Sustainable Finance in 2025, attendees can expect discussions revolving around the integration of science, particularly environmental-science, into financial decision-making for business sustainability. By collaborating with finance professionals, policymakers, and civil society, these events aim to foster breakthroughs in sustainable finance, aiming at tackling critical environmental and social issues, thereby driving innovation and achieving sustainable, resilient business practices.
