Dog Trainer Sentenced for Fraudulent Social Benefits Claims
A Frankfurt (Oder) dog trainer has been sentenced to 120 days imprisonment and ordered to repay €15,280. The District Court found her guilty of fraudulently claiming social benefits.
The trainer, who also sold pet food, dog photoshoot services, and handmade dog supplies, claimed to earn only €100 per month from her training activities. However, an investigation revealed her total income in 2021/2022 was over €32,000.
The Main Customs Office Frankfurt (Oder) initiated the probe following an anonymous tip. The court ruled that she was not entitled to benefits and had wrongly received €15,280 from the Employment Agency and the Jobcenter.
The dog trainer was sentenced to 120 days imprisonment, with each day costing €40. The court also ordered the seizure of the obtained value. This case serves as a reminder of the seriousness of fraudulent claims and the consequences for those found guilty.
