Drone Attack on Tyumen Oil Refinery Thwarted by Authorities
An oil refinery in Tyumen, Russia, was targeted by drones on October 6. While the ownership remains unknown, locals suspect LLC 'Rusinvest'. Emergency services swiftly acted, preventing any detonation and ensuring no harm or disruptions to nearby operations.
Three drones were successfully 'neutralized' in the industrial zone of Tyumen. The incident occurred at an oil refinery producing Euro-5 standard automotive gasoline, diesel fuel, liquefied petroleum gas, technical granulated sulfur, petroleum coke, and other petroleum products. Located approximately 2000 km from the Ukrainian border, the refinery is one of at least four in Russia affected by drone strikes since the start of October. Residents reported temporary communication and mobile internet issues in the Antipino area. Despite the incident, no injuries, fires, or explosions were reported, and all enterprises in the vicinity continued functioning normally.
The drone attack on the Tyumen oil refinery, though concerning, resulted in no significant damage or disruptions. Authorities successfully intervened, and operations at the refinery and nearby enterprises continued undeterred. The incident adds to a series of drone strikes on Russian oil refineries this month, with ownership and origin of the drones yet to be confirmed.
