E-bike Rentals Cease in Ravensburg and Weingarten Due to Velocity Insolvency
E-bike rentals via twsRad in Ravensburg and Weingarten have ceased due to the insolvency of service provider Velocity. TWS will remove the 190 e-bikes and dismantle the 25 stations in the coming weeks. Jenny Jungnitz, head of TWS' mobility and traffic department, regrets the disruption to users.
The insolvency of Velocity has led to the shutdown of the e-bike rental system's servers, making rentals impossible. Velocity was responsible for the software and charging technology of the system on behalf of TWS. Following Velocity's withdrawal in Aachen, TWS has also stopped e-bike rental operations in Oberschwaben. TWS cannot continue operating the e-bike rental system without a strong partner. The free Saturday ticket for the city bus remains available via the twsMobil platform, and all other mobility offers on the TWS platform remain unchanged and fully available.
TWS is currently working to resume e-bike rentals. While the new service provider is not yet named, TWS aims to restore this mobility option for users in Ravensburg and Weingarten. In the meantime, users can continue to utilise other mobility services available on the twsMobil platform.
