In a significant shift, Sunpro Oils (Romania), the company planning an edible oil factory in the Galati Free Zone, is now jointly owned by two Cyprus-based companies: Erdigama Limited and Koksi Holding Ltd[1][2].

Before 2023, Sunpro Group (Switzerland) held a 25% stake in Sunpro Oils (Romania), but they have since sold their participation to these two entities[1]. Erdigama Limited, a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), is led by officials such as Theodoros Loukaris (director) and Nikos Tsangararis (secretary), while Koksi Holding Ltd is an investment vehicle owned by Cypriot entrepreneur Oksana Kushnir, with investments primarily in real estate and energy-efficient technologies[1].

The sale was first reported by Economedia.ro in 2023. Since then, both Erdigama Limited and Koksi Holding Ltd have been identified as the major owners of Sunpro Oils (Romania), each controlling 50% of the company[1][2].

The edible oil factory in Galati is expected to commence operations shortly, with the necessary equipment already arriving[3]. Sunpro Oils (Romania) received a construction permit for the factory in 2023, marking a significant step towards the realization of the project[4].

The change in ownership has not resulted in any known changes in the management or operations of the edible oil factory in Galati. The future factory is still planned by Sunpro Oils (Romania), and it is anticipated to create over 200 jobs upon completion[5].

  1. The change in ownership of Sunpro Oils (Romania) has brought new investors like Erdigama Limited, an investment vehicle focusing on real estate and energy-efficient technologies, and Koksi Holding Ltd, owned by Cypriot entrepreneur Oksana Kushnir, into the manufacturing industry.
  2. With each entity controlling 50% of Sunpro Oils (Romania), the finance sector may see increased attention due to the potential for strategic collaborations and investments in the energy sector, given the dual-ownership structure.
  3. Although the company's ownership has transitioned, the edible oil factory in Galati is set to commence operations, with the necessary equipment having already been delivered, and the project expects to contribute over 200 jobs to the local business sector upon completion.
