Energy Conference Kicks Off in Leipzig, East Germany
The East German Energy Forum, a gathering dedicated to discussing energy-related matters, is set to take place in Leipzig from Wednesday and last for two days. Over 400 guests, including politicians, scientists, and energy industry representatives, are expected to attend the event.
The forum will be opened by the minister-president of Saxony, Michael Kretschmer, while the minister-president of Saxony-Anhalt, Reiner Haseloff, will officially open the event on the second day.
The main topics of discussion at the East German Energy Forum include the energy transition and the economic challenges facing small and medium-sized businesses in eastern Germany. Notable personalities participating in the discussion include Prof. Dr. Klaus-Dieter Barbknecht (Rector of TUBAF), Dr. Steffen Pache, and Thomas Seidel (Managing Director of HERMES GmbH Stalleinrichtungen), as well as representatives from the TU Bergakademie Freiberg as a founding member.
While the forum aims to address economic challenges in eastern Germany and discuss the energy transition, a demonstration by the environmental organization BUND Saxony is scheduled to take place during the event. The focus of the demonstration is on the lack of renewable energy expansion in the Free State. It is important to note that the demonstration is not part of the official proceedings of the East German Energy Forum.
The guests at the forum will have the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in the energy sector, network with industry professionals, and engage in discussions about the future of energy in eastern Germany. The East German Energy Forum serves as an important platform for fostering collaboration and driving innovation in the region.
