Enhancements planned for Hamm and its vicinity, as announced by Eurobahn
In Hamm, the Managing Director of Eurobahn, Anne Mathieu, expresses optimism about the company's progress towards offering all lines reliably and predictably again. This improvement is set to commence from various dates in September and October 2025.
One of the significant changes will occur in the "Maas-Rhein-Lippe Network" (MRLN), where the "Rhein-Emscher Express" (RE 3) will have a full regular timetable including evening trips from September 1, 2025. Eurobahn has taken over the daily trips for the RE 3 since June 16, 2025, and the service has shown few failures since then.
Another line, the RB 89 ("Ems-Börde-Bahn") in the "Hellweg Network (HWN)", will also return to its regular timetable from August 25, 2025. Simultaneously, the RB 67 ("Der Warendorfer") will resume its regular schedule in the "Ostwestfalen-Lippe Network (OWL)" on the same date.
The "Teutoburger Wald Network" (TWN) will witness enhancements as well. From October 6, 2025, the "Ems-Bahn" (RB 65) will offer eight additional trips during rush hour, and the "Teuto-Bahn" (RB 66) will return to a hourly regular timetable. The "Teuto-Bahn" between Münster and Osnabrück will also revert to a hourly regular timetable from October 6, 2025.
However, construction sites in the last quarter of 2025 could cause irregularities in the "Maas-Wupper Express" (RE 13). Despite this, the service will have a full regular timetable available again from September 15, 2025, with support from the Train Charter Service (TCS). This change will also apply to the RE 13 in the MRLN.
It is important to note that as of now, no specific details regarding upcoming changes in the MRLN, TWN, OWL, and HWN networks for September and October 2025 have been found. For highly detailed or official updates, it is recommended to consult the respective regional or transport authorities' official websites or specific project announcements closer to or during September-October 2025.
These improvements in the regional train services are expected to provide better connectivity and reliability for commuters in Nordrhein-Westfalen.
The industry of transportation in Nordrhein-Westfalen will witness marked improvements with the return of several regional train lines to their regular schedules. An investment in the finance sector is possibly being made by Eurobahn, as they work to establish reliable evening services on the Rhein-Emscher Express (RE 3) from September 1, 2025.
