Get set for the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industries Inc.'s (DCCCII) jaw-dropping showcase, Davao Icon 2025! Slated for September 2025, this spectacular event aims to put Davao City at the forefront of ASEAN's trade and investment scene, not just within the East Asean Growth Area (EAGA), but beyond.

Set to rock both the SMX Convention Center and SM City Davao, Davao Icon 2025 will be all about fostering cross-border collaborations - a theme personified by this year's tagline, "Beyond Borders: Navigating the New Frontier."

"Davao is no longer a city shrouded in promise; it has transformed into a strategic gateway to opportunities stretching from Brunei to Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and beyond," explained Jennifer Ellen Dumlao, DCCCII Chairperson for Davao Icon 2025, during a recent Kapehan sa Davao.

Sweetening the deal, Davao Icon 2025 will dive headfirst into trends, opportunities, and challenges in the investment landscape with a special emphasis on strengthening Davao City's connections with neighboring cities, municipalities, provinces, and even ASEAN countries.

Competing aggressively for the coveted attention of around 350 delegates, foreign embassies, consulates, and chambers from powerhouses like China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, and India will be in attendance, too. Representatives from several ASEAN countries have expressed interest due to tariff concerns, making them ripe for the identity-unveiling event.

Still, Davao has proved itself resilient even amid difficulties, like the ongoing pandemic. In spite of headwinds, a constant stream of investors and a slew of new townships continue to emerge, demonstrating the city's unwavering progress.

Fending off promotional challenges, Dumlao addresses competition assertively. "We're all in this together," she said. "Competition isn't solely about price or quality—it's about finding ways to boost our connectivity and innovative spirit as well."

Against this backdrop, 6 powerhouse industries will take center stage: trade and tourism, manufacturing, real estate and infrastructure, agriculture, and information technology. To top it off, inspiring events like a golf tournament and industry site tours, organized in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, promise an unforgettable experience.

Meanwhile, the Davao Agri-Trade Expo, a concurrent event, will welcome around 180 exhibitors and an estimated 5,000 visitors. And don't miss the Agri Fiesta, where we'll celebrate our agricultural heritage in style!

"Icon serves as more than just an exchange venue for ideas; it also empowers local industries and the tourism sector to close deals," explained DCCCII Secretary General Maan Doromal. So, pack your bags, business suitcases, and spirit of adventure - Davao Icon 2025 is ready to redefine your notion of a trade and investment conference!
