ET Energy Aims for 300 MW in South Africa, Wins 130 MW Project

ET Energy, a global renewable energy company, has big plans for South Africa and sub-Saharan markets. It aims to complete an additional 300 MW of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services within the next two years. The company has also secured a significant project in Africa's fourth Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP) bid round.

ET Energy has won a 130 MW project package in Africa's fourth REIPPPP round, partnering with a local investor. The identity of the local investor remains unclear, as searches did not yield explicit information. Construction of this 130 MW project is set to commence by the end of the third quarter of 2023.

To manage these projects and future ones, ET Energy is establishing a new subsidiary. This subsidiary will oversee the planning, procurement, construction, operation, and maintenance of large photovoltaic power plants in South Africa and the broader sub-Saharan region.

ET Energy's expansion in South Africa and sub-Saharan markets is expected to bring significant renewable energy capacity online. The company's new subsidiary will play a crucial role in managing these projects, contributing to the region's clean energy transition.
