Evening closures on I-75 and I-71 in Northern Kentucky this week as crews perform soil boring work, according to KYTC reports.

Motorists in Northern Kentucky should be aware of upcoming lane closures on I-71/75 northbound due to soil boring work. The work is scheduled to take place from Monday, August 4, through Thursday, August 7, during evening/overnight hours between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

During this period, a single right lane on I-71/75 northbound will be closed from north of Kyles Lane (KY 1072) at mile 188.57 to south of Pike Street (U.S. 25) exit at mile 190. The work is expected to be completed by Wednesday, August 6, at which point crews will shift to a single left lane closure from north of Pike Street (U.S. 25) at mile 190.74 to the Kentucky/Ohio state line at mile 192.

The purpose of the lane closures is to allow for soil boring and related preliminary work to be done at night to minimize traffic disruption. All work takes place overnight when traffic is lighter, and appropriate signage will be in place to warn motorists of the upcoming work.

It is important to note that no other soil boring lane closures on I-71/75 are planned this week in Boone or other nearby counties. Instead, focus will be on brush clearing and pothole patching in those areas. Other projects such as bridge work or soil nail installation in nearby areas have different schedules and locations.

Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes to avoid any delays during these overnight closures. For statewide traffic and travel updates, visit GoKY. Additionally, project schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
