In a significant development, Russian electronics retailer M.Video-Eldorado is embarking on a strategic journey to expand its market reach and strengthen its online sales presence. This shift comes as Vladislav Bakalchuk, a key figure in the company, takes on a pivotal role in driving this digital transformation.

Previously, Bakalchuk owned 1% in LLC "Wildberries," a prominent e-commerce company. However, following a court decision on the division of property between him and his spouse, Tatyana Kim, in February 2024, his stake was transferred to Kim. As a result, Kim became the 100% owner of LLC "Wildberries."

Despite this change, Bakalchuk remains actively engaged with M.Video-Eldorado. He is currently in dialogue with the company's top management and working with an expert group that includes specialists in information technology, e-commerce, marketing, and logistics.

Bakalchuk's primary focus at M.Video-Eldorado is on the refinement of the company's strategy, with a particular emphasis on expanding online sales and reformatting the retail network to adapt to new market conditions and consumer preferences. His priority tasks include increasing online sales to 80% and restructuring the physical stores to better integrate with the company's growing e-commerce platform.

M.Video-Eldorado's current strategy is twofold: expanding market reach, including planned entry into CIS countries in 2026, and strengthening its online sales presence. The company's efforts to balance online growth and physical presence efficiency are evident in its ongoing reformatting of the retail network, aimed at optimising both customer experience and operational costs.

The retail chain has reported impressive online sales figures, with over 655,000 consoles sold in the first half of 2025 in Russia alone. This strong performance in digital categories such as gaming consoles underscores the potential for further growth in M.Video-Eldorado's online sales.

Digital innovation is seen as a vital pillar of growth for M.Video-Eldorado, with the strategic leadership emphasising its importance. While Felix Lieb is the current CEO noted publicly for the expansion plans, Bakalchuk's role in driving the digital transformation cannot be understated.

In summary, M.Video-Eldorado's strategy is to combine physical retail reformatting with aggressive development of online sales. Bakalchuk's leadership role focuses on this digital expansion and integration, ensuring the retail network evolves alongside the growing e-commerce market. As the company moves forward, it will be interesting to see how these efforts shape the future of M.Video-Eldorado.
