Exposed Internal "Fraud List" at VW!

In a bid to align with market demand and implement cost-cutting measures, Volkswagen has unveiled a restructuring plan that involves adjusting its German production capacity by 734,000 units. The plan, as reported by Auto Motor und Sport, does not entail any plant closures but will lead to operational changes at specific factories.

The production of the T-Roc Cabriolet at the Volkswagen plant in Osnabrück will come to an end by mid-2027. Meanwhile, the Dresden plant will cease production of the ID.3, with plans to repurpose the facility under a third-party arrangement. The Emden plant will continue to manufacture the ID.4 and ID.7 models.

The plant in Zwickau will see a reduction of 170,000 units in production capacity, while the Glass Manufactory in Dresden, with a technical capacity of 8,000 units, will also experience a reduction. The maximum capacity of the Volkswagen plant in Wolfsburg stands at 800,000 units, with a reduction of 500,000 units planned. In 2024, only 523,000 cars rolled off the production line at the Wolfsburg plant.

The utilization rate of the Volkswagen plant in Osnabrück has been low in recent years, with only 35,000 units produced in 2024. Volkswagen is reportedly considering all options for the location of the Osnabrück plant. Production of the T-Roc Cabrio will continue at the Osnabrück plant until 2027.

In terms of workforce impact, Volkswagen aims to reduce costs by cutting jobs. Nearly 20,000 employees have agreed to voluntary exits by 2030, mostly through partial retirements, and a total reduction of over 35,000 jobs across Germany is planned by that year.

These changes are part of Volkswagen's efforts to streamline operations and adapt to changing market conditions. The company continues to be a significant player in the automotive industry, and these adjustments are expected to position it for long-term success.

The restructuring plan at Volkswagen will lead to the cessation of T-Roc Cabriolet production at the Osnabrück plant by mid-2027, and the Dresden plant will no longer produce the ID.3, with plans to lease the facility to a third party. Additionally, the finance department of Volkswagen might need to consider adjustments in their budget, as the changes in production capacity and workforce reductions will have cost implications for the transportation and automotive sectors.
