FES Builds Sustainable Housing Complex for Employees and Frankfurt Residents
Frankfurt Waste Management and Services GmbH (FES) is building a new housing complex in Frankfurt, aiming to ease the city's housing crisis and benefit its employees. The project, set to complete in summer 2026, will offer 48 apartments and four commercial spaces, with priority rental given to FES staff.
The complex, located on a 2,584 square meter plot next to Höchst's bus station, is being constructed to high sustainability standards. It will meet the passive house standard and be powered by geothermal energy. The topping-out ceremony was held on September 26, 2023, marking a significant milestone in the project's timeline.
The 48 apartments will provide accommodation for up to 136 people. Around 75% of these units will be publicly subsidized, with 15 on the I funding path and 21 on the II funding path. This subsidization aims to make housing more affordable for FES employees and Frankfurt residents.
The completion of this project in summer 2026 will not only provide new homes for FES employees but also contribute to Frankfurt's efforts to alleviate its tense housing market. The complex's high energy efficiency and sustainability standards also align with the city's environmental goals.
