Ford Expands Power Promise Program in UK and Northern Ireland, Offering Enhanced EV Charging Solutions
Ford's Power Promise program has undergone an expansion in the UK and Northern Ireland, providing electric vehicle (EV) customers with improved access to affordable and convenient charging solutions. This move aligns with Ford's commitment to promoting EV adoption and supporting the UK's renewable electricity targets by 2027.
The program offers a range of benefits, including access to compatible public and home charging networks under preferential rates or packages, transparent pricing, seamless charging experiences, and support and education for customers on EV charging infrastructure and usage. The expansion also includes integration with new charging hubs and pilot projects designed to ease stress on public chargers, particularly in Northern Ireland.
In addition to these benefits, Ford is offering a £500 cash bonus to those who already have a home charging solution. In Great Britain, the free wall box charger installation is provided through Ford's partnership with Octopus Energy. However, it's important to note that the Power Promise program in the UK does not include a cash bonus for those who already have a home charging solution.
The program covers towing to the nearest charger if needed and includes an 8-year/100,000-mile battery warranty. Buyers in the UK can also take advantage of up to 10,000 miles' worth of home charging credit on the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff. The Intelligent Octopus Go tariff offers lower rates during off-peak hours and can reduce charging costs by up to 70% when combined with Ford's Dynamic Charging.
The Power Promise program is not limited to the UK mainland. In Northern Ireland, the installation services for the free wall box charger are handled by ChargeGuru. The program has been expanded to Canada and is now being extended until June 30, 2025, in some regions.
The BlueOvalTM Charge Network, which includes over 800,000 charge points across Europe, now includes over 36,000 charge points in the UK. This expansion of the Power Promise program reflects Ford's continued effort to encourage EV adoption and align with the UK’s renewable electricity targets.
