Ford is making a concerted effort to make home charging easier for those interested in electric vehicles (EVs) in the United States. The automaker believes that convenience, peace of mind, and expert service are the keys to breaking through with the estimated 19 million people in the U.S. who are interested in EVs.

A recent survey revealed that nearly 90% of shoppers would be more likely to buy an EV if they knew they could charge at home. To cater to this demand, Ford offers a complimentary home charger to buyers or lessees of retail Ford Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning, or E-Transit.

Ford's home charger can be taken by the buyer or delivered to them, and the company provides this service to remove the guesswork and costs associated with home charger installation. An expert will install the home charger at no charge for a standard install.

Ford's BlueOval Charge Network supports charging on road trips, automatically searching for chargers across various networks, including Electrify America and Tesla Superchargers. Plug and Charge allows drivers to plug in at charging stations, and the payment is automatically made via their FordPass account.

Filling up an EV at home can be a significant cost savings for many owners compared to filling up with gas. To further incentivise commercial EV adoption, Ford Pro fleet customers are eligible for a commercial charging cash incentive.

Ford is expanding its 24/7 Ford advisor for EV support, and Connected Navigation in Ford vehicles adds charging stops to the route via the BlueOval Charge Network. Many electric vehicle customers want 24/7 support from a real person with expertise if they are going to try new technology. To cater to this need, customers can talk or text with real people for EV support.

In addition, Ford provides an eight-year/100,000-mile high-voltage battery warranty for every Ford electric vehicle. Charging home stations for vehicles like the Ford Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning, or E-Transit can be purchased and installed by specialized electric vehicle charging suppliers or authorized dealers. For example, adjustable mobile charging stations (Mode 2, Type 2) compatible with typical household sockets (Schuko) are available from suppliers such as Wallbox Discounter, which also offers flexible installation options and app support for monitoring and adjusting charge settings.

With these initiatives, Ford is making it easier than ever for U.S. consumers to adopt electric vehicles and enjoy the benefits they offer.
