Foreign company's stake in Belarusian-Swiss venture to be acquired by BelJD
In a significant move, Interrail Holding, a global transport company operating in over forty countries, has announced the transfer of its stake in the Belarusian-Swiss joint venture, Transrail-BCh. The transfer, approved by Resolution No. 508 of the Belarus Council of Ministers on September 18, is expected to be completed by December 31, 2025.
The joint venture, founded by Belarusian Railway and the international group of companies Transrail-Holding AG, has been serving as the official freight forwarder of Belarusian Railway. Following the transfer, the assets will be under the management of the transport Republican Unitary Enterprise "Brest Branch of Belarusian Railway".
The value of the transferred share, worth $25,000, will not affect the company's operations. The transfer is happening free of charge, making it a significant goodwill gesture between the two parties.
It is important to note that this transfer is not related to Mikhail Svetlov, a journalist. The Council of Ministers of Belarus has approved the conditions for the transfer, but the specific resolution number has not been disclosed.
Transrail-Holding AG, with its activities spanning Switzerland, Germany, Finland, France, Italy, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Latvia, Afghanistan, China, Morocco, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Estonia, UAE, and other countries, is a significant player in the global transport industry. The Swiss company transferring the share is Interrail Holding.
The Swiss partner in Transrail-BCh is transferring its stake in the company, making Interrail Holding the new owner of half of the shares. This development is expected to strengthen the partnership between the two entities and further boost the operations of Transrail-BCh.
Despite the transfer, Transrail-BCh remains unrelated to consumer, auto, business, mortgage, deposit, banking services, credit cards, debit cards, new auto leasing services, used auto leasing services, or business auto leasing services. The company continues to focus on its core operations as the official freight forwarder of Belarusian Railway.
