Funeral Partners in £200m Sale Talks, Duke Street Returns
Funeral Partners, a leading UK funeral service provider, is in advanced talks for a potential sale. The deal, advised by HSBC, could be worth nearly £200m. If successful, it would mark a return to the industry for Duke Street, which previously owned Laurel Funerals.
Funeral Partners, operating over 280 branches nationwide, handles more than 20,000 funeral services annually. The company is currently owned by Montagu Private Equity. Duke Street, a private equity firm, is in exclusive negotiations to acquire Funeral Partners. The new owner, however, remains unspecified at this stage.
HSBC is advising on the sale, with the deal valued at close to £200m. This potential acquisition would see Duke Street re-enter the funeral services industry, having previously owned Laurel Funerals.
The sale of Funeral Partners, if completed, would be a significant transaction in the UK funeral services sector. The new owner, yet to be confirmed, would acquire a substantial business with a wide reach across the country.
