FÜRST Quarter: Kudamm-Karree's Modern Makeover
The Kudamm-Karree in Charlottenburg is undergoing a major transformation. The Cells Group, along with private investors, acquired the area in 2015 and is now redeveloping it into a modern, mixed-use complex called FÜRST.
At the heart of the project is the 'Kudamm-Karree-Highrise', which will remain a central feature of the quarter, bounded by Ku'damm, Uhlandstraße, Lietzenburger Straße, and Knesebeckstraße. The high-rise will undergo extensive renovation to match the new, open concept of the redevelopment.
The FÜRST project aims to replace the architectural stagnation of the 1970s with a fresh, modern design. It will include 47,000 square meters of office space, 12,000 square meters for retail, and areas dedicated to gastronomy, a hotel, and the 'Story of Berlin' museum. The new area will open up towards the Ku'damm, creating a public city square.
TFE Hotels is the company behind the redevelopment, with its brand 'A by Adina' set to play a central role in the newly developed FÜRST quarter.
The completion of the FÜRST project, initially planned for the end of 2022, may be delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite this, the redevelopment promises to transform the Kudamm-Karree into a vibrant, mixed-use space that will enhance Charlottenburg's urban landscape.
