Germany Boosts Ukraine's War Effort with 1,000 Mercedes-Benz Zetros Trucks
Germany has stepped up its support for Ukraine's military efforts, ordering over 1,000 Mercedes-Benz Zetros military trucks. Known for their off-road prowess and heavy-duty capabilities, these trucks will bolster Ukraine's logistical infrastructure, which has long struggled with equipment shortages.
The Zetros trucks, produced by Daimler Truck, are renowned for their 6×6 configuration, enabling them to transport heavy loads, including armored vehicles. Over 340 of these robust trucks have already been delivered to Ukraine, with the remainder expected soon. The German government is believed to have financed this purchase, although details remain classified.
This significant order is one of the largest known vehicle contracts under Germany's classified assistance program. It follows an earlier announcement by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius of a €351 million program to supply Ukraine with long-range drones.
The arrival of over 1,000 Zetros trucks is set to significantly enhance Ukraine's logistical capabilities, aiding in the transportation of troops and equipment. This German support underscores the international commitment to assisting Ukraine in its ongoing conflict.
