Giessen Launches 'On-site Energy Generation' Campaign for Eco-friendly Homes
Giessen residents can look forward to a new campaign aiming to make their homes more energy-efficient and eco-friendly. The 'On-site Energy Generation' initiative, a collaboration between the city and LEA Hessia, kicks off on September 10, 2025, with an opening event at the Technical University of Middle Hesse.
The campaign, running until November 19, focuses on topics like efficient heat protection, modern heating technology, and the use of renewable energies. Homeowners in areas such as Evangelical Settlement and Professor's Quarter can benefit from free, individual energy advice at their residences. To find qualified energy consultants, residents can explore networks like the Deutsches Energieberater Netzwerk (DEN) e.V. or the official Energieeffizienz-Expertenliste, which lists over 22,000 specialists nationwide.
Information stands from Stadtwerke Giessen, Sparkasse Giessen, and Volksbank Middle Hesse will also be available during the campaign. Interested homeowners can register for a consultation appointment online, via email at klimaschutz@giessen.de, or by phone at 0641 306-2110.
The 'On-site Energy Generation' campaign in Giessen is set to empower homeowners to reduce their energy consumption and contribute to a greener future. With expert advice and resources at their disposal, residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their homes' energy efficiency.
