Godrej Agrovet Expands in Andhra Pradesh with 60,000 Hectares of Oil Palm Plantations

Godrej Agrovet Limited (GAVL), India's leading oil palm processor, has announced significant expansion plans in Andhra Pradesh. The company aims to add 60,000 hectares of oil palm plantations over the next five years, building on its existing 45,000 hectares in the region. This move is part of GAVL's long-term strategy to support India's oil mission and reduce the country's dependence on palm oil imports.

GAVL's commitment to Andhra Pradesh is evident in its recent Memorandum of Understanding with the state government. The company plans to invest INR 100 Crores to set up an Edible Oil Refinery & Solvent Extraction Plant in Seethanagaram, Eluru District. This facility will have a projected refining capacity of 400 tonnes per day, further strengthening GAVL's presence in the region.

To support local farmers, GAVL has plans to establish Samadhan centers, especially in the Andhra Pradesh region. These centers will provide agricultural support and solutions, with a target of setting up 50 such centers by 2027. GAVL's Group President Corporate Affairs, Rakesh Swami, has expressed the company's commitment to expanding its business footprint in Andhra Pradesh.

GAVL's expansion in Andhra Pradesh, including the addition of oil palm plantations and the establishment of the new refinery, is expected to boost the local economy and support India's oil mission. The company's dedication to providing agricultural support to farmers through Samadhan centers further underscores its commitment to sustainable growth and development in the region.
