Hallertau Launches Digital Experience to Boost Tourism
A new initiative, 'The Digital Hallertau Experience', has been launched to showcase the rich culture, tradition, and history of the Hallertau region. The project, supported by the European LEADER funding program with €30,432, aims to attract new visitors and engage locals through digital audio tours. The project was approved and launched on June 12, 2025, and is a cooperative effort involving several local action groups.
The project, 'Die digitale Hallertau-Erfahrung', is backed by the Bavarian Cultural Foundation. It plans to create four digital audio tours accessible via smartphone, highlighting hop farming and other aspects of the region. Two digital city tours are planned for Wolnzach and Mainburg, while two digital bike tours are set to explore the area. One bike tour will take visitors from Rudelzhausen via Au i. d. Hallertau and Nandlstadt to Freising, and another will traverse the ILE Holledauer Tor area.
The project is a collaborative effort involving local action groups LAG Landkreis Kelheim e.V., LAG Landkreis Landshut e.V., LAG Mittlere Isarregion e.V., and LAG Landkreis Pfaffenhofen a.d.Ilm e.V. Together, they aim to preserve and promote the region's unique heritage and attract more visitors to the Hallertau area.
