Hellmann's Top Boss Steps Down After 5 Years, Paving Way for Industry Veteran
Hellmann, a leading logistics company, has announced significant changes in its top management. Reiner Heiken, who has led the company for over five years, is set to step down, making way for Jens Drewes, a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the industry.
Heiken's departure comes after a successful tenure during which he oversaw international growth in Hellmann's Contract Logistics division. Before joining Hellmann, Heiken spent over 19 years at Kuehne + Nagel and served as CEO of the Europe region for Schenker. Despite a €1.5 billion drop in sales in 2023 due to the normalisation of pandemic-inflated freight rates, Hellmann maintained stable order volumes and expanded its market position in Airfreight and Seafreight divisions.
Drewes, who brings 27 years of experience at Kuehne + Nagel, including global senior management roles in Asia-Pacific, is set to build on Heiken's foundation. Prior to his current position, Drewes was CEO at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics. He will now take the helm, aiming to further develop the company and build a bear on the strong position Heiken has established.
Hellmann's top management change comes at a time when the company is navigating a post-pandemic market. With Drewes' appointment, Hellmann is poised to continue its growth trajectory, building a bear on the solid foundation laid by Heiken's leadership.
