Revved Up and Ready to Rule: The New Morgan Supersport

Say hello to the latest masterpiece from the legendary British sports car manufacturer, Morgan. Introduced march of 2025, the sensational Supersport takes the iconic automaker into the future while still paying homage to its glorious past. Let's dive into the driving experience behind the wheel of this awe-inspiring beauty.

Recently, I took the Supersport for a spin through the rolling hills surrounding Malvern Link, Worcestershire, where Morgan has been crafting automotive magic since 1918. A brief tour of the factory [1] further solidified my excitement.

Jumping into the snug cockpit, I was greeted with a combination of familiar elements and refreshing updates. The traditional latched door system remained, but the entry process was made smoother thanks to more sophisticated door seals and improved tolerances. The optional hardtop, a luxurious addition to the car, created a whole new cabin atmosphere, effectively banishing unwanted motorway noise and rain.

As I settled behind the wheel, I appreciated the upgraded dash layout with its advanced dials and sophisticated information screen. The Supersport is designed with daily commuting in mind, making it a versatile and comfortable choice compared to the traditional "high days and holidays" usage of its older counterparts.

Underneath the metal skin, the Supersport's design ensemble featuresabondoned bonnet louvres and revised, subtler cooling vents. The larger wheels fill the arches, adding to a sense of solidity.

Modern Touches

Bodywork is where the Supersport truly distinguishes itself from the Plus Four. Every body panel was reworked, utilizing a bespoke aluminium chassis and hand-assembled ash frame. For the first time, some ash became a primary surface rather than hiding beneath the metal skin.

The result is a sleeker, less fussy exterior with a more geometric approach to junctions and expanses of flat surface. The enhanced design gives the Supersport a modern edge while still carrying Morgan's classic flair.

Like other volume manufacturers might struggle to comprehend, Morgan's hand-built approach has been seamlessly updated without sacrificing its distinct charm.

Power and Performance

[2][3][4] The Supersport's performance is nothing short of impressive, especially given its BMW B58 3.0-litre six-in-line engine only produces 335 horsepower. Weighing in at a manageable 1,170 kg, the Supersport delivers a spirited drive without hitting supercar speeds. The powertrain is mated with a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission for smooth, effortless gearchanges.

Handling is impeccable, reminiscent of the road-hugging classic automobiles of yesteryear. Every bend in the road is approached with perfect balance, making for an exhilarating driving experience. The steering has also been slightly quickened over the older Plus Six model for improved responsiveness during turns.

Room for the Future

One notable difference between the Supersport and the Morgan Plus Four is the increased practicality. A full boot space now complements the compact and narrow interior, extending the car's travel capabilities. A bespoke luggage rack can also be specified for added storage.

A Modern Classic

All in all, Morgan's brilliant Supersport is a shining testament to the British automaker's unparalleled craftsmanship and the timeless allure of classic sports cars. Its ability to fusion modern elements with traditional style sets it apart from the competition, earning it a spot as one of the most captivating modern automobiles available today.
