Humanetics & Mcity Team Up for Advanced Active Safety Testing
Humanetics and Mcity are teaming up to bring advanced active safety testing tech to Mcity Test Facility. Audi's new Q6 e-tron boasts cutting-edge digital OLED rear lights, boosting road safety and communication. Mercedes-Benz is investing heavily in digitalization and AI workforce training via Turn2Learn.
Mcity is upgrading to Mcity 2.0, a cloud-based, AR test bed for connected and automated vehicles. Humanetics will provide access to leading-edge active safety testing tech and training services at Mcity. The partnership aims to fully integrate Humanetics' dynamic test system into Mcity's environment.
Audi's Q6 e-tron introduces second-generation digital OLED rear lights, featuring the world's first active digital light signature. This allows customers to personalize their vehicle's lights. The lights enhance road safety and communication with other road users, thanks to Audi's collaboration with Osram.
Humanetics will also provide Mcity with various Active Safety robotic test platforms to mimic different road users. These robots will be part of Mcity's Safety Assessment Program for testing automated vehicles before widespread deployment. Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz is investing over €2 billion in digitalization and AI workforce qualification through Turn2Learn until 2030. The Humanetics-Mcity collaboration aims to accelerate the development and deployment of connected and automated vehicle technologies.
