Ikea introduces a loyalty rewards system for small enterprises
In a significant move, global furniture giant Ikea has announced an ambitious investment plan worth over $2.2 billion over the next three years. This investment will cover all of Ingka's markets, including the U.S., France, Finland, Canada, Germany, and Spain, and will lead to the opening of eight new stores, nine plan and order points, and 900 pickup locations [1].
As part of this expansion, Ikea has also launched its Ikea Business Network loyalty program in the U.S. This program, designed specifically for businesses of all sizes, offers a range of benefits and perks [2]. Unlike the regular Ikea Family rewards program, the Business Network is separate and business customers enrolled cannot earn points in both programs simultaneously [3].
The Business Network program offers a variety of perks, including access to inspiring design solutions, the Learn with Ikea business training program, and Ikea interior design services starting at $299 per room [4]. Members also receive access to all Ikea Family discounts on products, food, and services, as well as discounted delivery options [2].
To support its goal of becoming a circular business by 2030, Ikea has also introduced its As-is service. This initiative allows Ikea Family members to buy gently used or discontinued products online and pick them up in-store [6].
In addition to Ingka Group's separate investment of about 3 billion euros, this growth is expected to create over 2,000 jobs [1].
For individual customers, the Ikea Family rewards program remains in place. Members earn 1 point (symbolized by an Allen key) for every $5 spent in-store or online, and points can be redeemed for a variety of rewards including product discounts, delivery and assembly services, and even free food in the IKEA Swedish Restaurant [1][5]. The program offers a personalized experience and is free to join, supporting customers throughout their home furnishing journey [1].
For businesses interested in Ikea’s loyalty offerings, it’s best to inquire directly with Ikea for detailed Business Network benefits and rewards, as publicly available specifics are minimal compared to the consumer IKEA Family program. Business loyalty program members also receive a free hot coffee or tea on each visit to Ikea's Swedish restaurant.
