Latin America's Bentonite Exports Surge in 2024

Bentonite exports surged significantly in 2024, reaching X tons and marking a X% increase from the previous year. This growth comes after two years of decline, with the Latin American market rising for the fourth consecutive year to reach $X.

Over the last twelve years, total exports grew modestly, with an average annual rate of X%. However, production and consumption have not mirrored this growth. Production peaked at $X in 2012 but has since stood at a lower figure, indicating a deep slump. Consumption also recorded a significant reduction over the period under review.

Exports in value terms stood at $X in 2024. The most notable growth was seen in 2017, with an increase of X%. The largest exporters in the region were Mexico and Brazil. Despite the recent growth, consumption has remained at a lower level since 2012, when the market hit record highs at $X.

Bentonite exports in Latin America have shown significant growth in 2024, with a surge in volume and value. However, production and consumption have not kept pace with this growth, indicating a need for further investment and development in the sector.
