Leadership Shuffle Announced by Sound Community Bancorp, Inc.
Sound Financial Bancorp, Inc., the parent company of Sound Community Bank based in Seattle, Washington, has announced a leadership transition. Wesley Ochs, currently serving as Chief Financial Officer, will assume the role of President, effective October 1, 2025.
Wesley Ochs brings over 23 years of banking experience to his new role. His expertise includes enhancing lending operations, financial reporting, policy governance, and client experience. In his recent work, he has focused on asset/liability management, credit loss modeling, and enterprise budgeting.
Ochs holds degrees in Economics and Accounting and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School. He has been instrumental in leading initiatives that have strengthened the bank's operations and position.
Laura Lee Stewart, who has been with the organization for 35 years, will continue as Chief Executive Officer. Stewart has guided the organization's evolution from a credit union to a state-chartered, FDIC-insured commercial bank. She will also oversee the smooth transition of the President's duties.
Sound Community Bank, a Fannie Mae Approved Lender and Seller/Servicer, has full-service branches in Seattle, Tacoma, Mountlake Terrace, Sequim, Port Angeles, Port Ludlow, and University Place. It also has a loan production office located in the Madison Park neighborhood of Seattle.
