Legacy automaker launches a high-performance model

Aston Martin has announced the launch of the Vantage S, the most performance-focused model in its sports car range. This new addition is a testament to Aston Martin's commitment to continuous improvement and the revival of its tradition of 'S' suffix models, following the DBX S.

The Vantage S boasts a host of enhancements that cater to enthusiasts seeking a more dynamic driving experience. The interior, available in full semi-aniline leather or a combination of semi-aniline leather and Alcantara, comes in both monotone and duotone options. A unique interior option package offers customers a choice of red or silver anodized finish for the knurled metal drive mode rotary.

The new model features color-matched, embroidered 'S' logos on the upper shoulder panel of the seats. Each logo consists of almost 2,500 individual stitches and over 16 meters of thread, adding a touch of craftsmanship to the vehicle's interior. The Aston Martin wings are embroidered onto the headrests, further emphasizing the car's identity.

An industry-first technique using both embossing and debossing is available for the Aston Martin wings embroidery on the Vantage S. This technique adds depth and texture to the emblems, enhancing their visual appeal.

Under the hood, the Vantage S is equipped with an upgraded 4.0-litre V8 Twin-Turbo engine, producing 680PS at 6000rpm and 800Nm of torque. This powertrain, combined with detail changes to the suspension hardware, powertrain mounts, and control software, results in a 0.1 second improvement in 0-100km/h time (now 3.4 seconds) and 0-200km/h in 10.1 seconds.

The new Vantage S also benefits from refined and calibrated throttle pedal weight and response for a greater sense of connection with the controls. The vehicle's in-gear response has been improved due to the peak torque delivered between 3000 and 6000rpm.

Distinctive front bonnet blades, finished in gloss black or 2x2 Twill Carbon Fibre, optimize the extraction of hot air from the engine. These modifications contribute to the Vantage S's improved agility and driver engagement.

However, the top speed of the Vantage S remains unchanged at 325km/h. Prices for the Vantage S start at INR 7 crores, ex-showroom.

While details about the specific names of the engineers or development teams responsible for the Aston Martin Vantage S are not provided, it's clear that this model represents a significant step forward in Aston Martin's sports car lineup.

As for the new Ferrari plug-in hybrid berlinetta with a mid-rear V8 twin-turbo engine, no information was provided in the search results.
