In the bustling city of Krasnodar, parking revenue has been on an upward trajectory, with significant contributions coming from both parking fees and fines. According to city officials, the total revenue from parking-related activities reached 800 million rubles in 2024, with approximately 500 million rubles coming from fines and 300 million from parking fees.

Fast forward to 2025, and the city has seen a continued growth in these revenues. For the first seven months of the year, parking fees amounted to 224 million rubles, while fines totaled 312 million rubles. These funds have been instrumental in the city's budget, with the administration announcing that over 536 million rubles have been received since January 2025.

The head of Krasnodar, Naumov, has highlighted one of the main areas of work in the parking sector as combating hidden numbers, a practice that undermines the fair collection of parking fees.

The funds received from parking fees and fines are earmarked for the road fund, which will be used to repair roadways, update sidewalks, modernise bus stops, and improve overall road infrastructure in Krasnodar. In a bid to further expand and improve the city's parking facilities, the administration aims to increase the total number of parking spaces to 14,500.

To achieve this, Krasnodar authorities have been actively adding new paid parking spaces. At the beginning of August, 323 additional paid parking spaces were added in Krasnodar, located on six previously free areas. Furthermore, an additional 600 parking spaces have been opened in the city this year.

In a move to encourage more efficient use of parking spaces, the city authorities have reduced free parking time from 15 minutes to 5 minutes. This change is expected to encourage drivers to vacate parking spaces more quickly, making them available for other users.

While specific revenue targets for the end of 2025 have not been publicly disclosed, the administration has expressed a goal to increase parking revenue to 1 billion rubles by the end of the year.
