Lörrach Fire Department Receives Second CBRN Rescue Vehicle in Freiburg Region
Baden-Württemberg's population protection and firefighting services have seen a steady upgrade and modernisation of their CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear) rescue vehicles. The first fire department in this area to receive a CBRN rescue vehicle was Freiburg city's fire department. The recent seminar, held on 20.09.2025, saw Konstanz's hazardous materials unit participate. It offered five practical stations, including demonstrations of new measurement technology and software, practical exercises, and presentations by the Analytical Task Force (ATF) Mannheim. The event provided an opportunity for mutual exchange and discussion of new findings and experiences. Notably, the seminar focused on the handover of new CBRN reconnaissance vehicles provided by the federal government since February 2025. Two fire departments in the Freiburg government presidency's area have already received these new vehicles.
