Major Operation 'Anserem' Targets Wage Evasion in German Security Industry
Customs officials and prosecutors have launched a major operation, 'Anserem', targeting suspected wage evasion and immigration fraud in the security industry. More than 40 search warrants were executed across multiple German states, with around 200 customs officers involved.
The operation, led by the Main Customs Office Landshut and supported by the Public Prosecutor's Offices in Landshut and Munich I, targeted suspects accused of aiding and abetting wage evasion. It is believed that several individuals used companies to evade social security contributions through a complex chain immigration scheme, resulting in damages of at least €1.5 million.
Initial witness interviews have been conducted, and business documents, data carriers, and mobile phones were seized during the operation. These items will now be evaluated as part of the ongoing investigation.
The head of the special assignment 'Anserem' remains undisclosed. The operation is a significant step in combating wage evasion and social security fraud within the security industry. Further updates are expected as the investigation continues.
